This month, the Ballito UIP Cleaning, Greening, and Maintenance (CGM) team continued their steadfast efforts to maintain a clean, green, and welcoming precinct — with added focus on infrastructure upgrades and support for the O’Neill Ballito Pro.
Garden and infrastructure improvements
One of the major projects completed this month was the full revamp of the traffic circle on Ballito Drive near the BP Garage. The area was upgraded with new kerbing, paving, and a vibrant new garden. The P445 fence, which was damaged during a road accident, was also swiftly repaired within 24 hours by our team to ensure safety and maintain the precinct’s visual appeal. The team also took on additional paving repairs and the replacement and straightening of bollards in the Business Park.
Earlier this month, the UIP responded swiftly to the impact of two days of municipal strikes early in the month, clearing accumulated litter and debris in good time, with welcomed support from local businesses.
Fun facts, just under 4,000 refuse bags were used during July, along with close to 3,400 dog waste bags – a reflection of the team’s continued focus on keeping the area clean and well-maintained.
Watering support and ongoing maintenance
Thanks to Fidelity ADT for lending a hand with watering duties over the past two weeks, helping to keep our gardens healthy during the drier season.
Other ongoing maintenance included routine verge cleaning, sweeping of public areas, and garden bed weeding. These tasks continue to ensure the precinct remains neat and accessible.
Supporting the O’Neill Ballito Pro
With Ballito hosting the prestigious O’Neill Ballito Pro, our teams ramped up their efforts to ensure the area looked its best.
