As Ballito prepares for the busy festive season, the UIP’s Cleaning, Greening and Maintenance Team has been hard at work delivering a range of visible improvements across the precinct. From revitalised public spaces and infrastructure repairs to ongoing cleaning and maintenance operations, October was a month focused on ensuring Ballito remains clean, attractive and welcoming for residents, businesses and visitors alike.
33 Potholes Repaired & Benches Improved Across the Precinct
Road and infrastructure maintenance remained a key focus area during October. The team repaired five large potholes and approximately 28 minor potholes this month. As always, public space enhancements were also an important feature. As such, two new benches were installed along the Ballito Promenade, and nine existing benches were varnished in the lower precinct to extend their lifespan and improve their appearance.
Revamps & Refurbishments in the Upper Precinct
During October, two gardens in the upper precinct were revamped, and several additional infrastructure projects were completed. This included:
- The replacement of 5 bollards in the Ballito Business Park
- Refurbishment of curbing in the upper precinct
While often less visible than larger projects, these interventions play an important role in maintaining a safe, functional and well-managed public environment.
Preparing Ballito for the Festive Season
Alongside these improvement projects, the Cleaning, Greening and Maintenance Team continued delivering its daily operational programme throughout the month, ensuring the precinct remained clean, well-maintained, and using 5 580 refuse bags.
With festive season preparations already underway, the team remains focused on maintaining the high standards that businesses, residents and visitors have come to expect from Ballito.
