The cooler weather is settling in, and Ballito continues to set the standard for clean, safe, and well-maintained public spaces.
The cleaning, greening and maintenance programme delivered strong, measurable results in May, ensuring the precinct remained neat, accessible, and visitor-ready ahead of the upcoming winter holiday season.
A Clean Ballito: 4680 Refuse Bags Collected
The scale of daily operations remains significant, with teams working across the precinct to maintain high standards. This month:
- 4,680 refuse bags were collected, and

20 Promenade Benches Being Replaced
Work is underway to replace 20 benches along the Ballito Promenade – a key upgrade that will enhance both comfort and the overall look of this high-traffic public space.
Public Space Enhancement
Alongside this, the precinct greening programme continues to deliver visible improvements, with a focus on both aesthetics and functionality. Key highlights this month include:
- Extensive vegetation cutbacks
- Directional signage cleared and made more visible
- Daily removal of palm fronds from verges
- Repainting of the Hawkins Tidal Pool shower area
Overall, Ballito remains in excellent condition, with ongoing work ensuring that standards are not only maintained but continuously improved.Β With preparations already underway for the Ballito Pro in July, the precinct is well positioned to welcome increased visitor numbers.
