Well done to Sphamandla Mkhize, and two other Ballito UIP staff members who were involved in apprehending a suspect after a burglary last week. Your efforts are truly appreciated!
On Saturday the 14th of July 2018, a break-in occurred at a self-catering holiday home on Minerva Road South, Ballito. Thankfully no one got hurt, as there were guests staying on the property at the time.
A burglar broke into the store room on the lower ground and got away with a ladder, garden fork and a jacket (which belonged to a guest) that was on the washing line.
A UIP guard stopped the burglar within the precinct area which borders on the property.
The owners of the property were very grateful for the UIPβs help and involvement. On the same Saturday evening, the burglar had already been apprehended and held at the police station.
The UIP would also like to thank Dieter Fittkau, Operations Manager at the Ballito UIP for using his invaluable experience to guide and train UIP staff in dealing and identifying situations like this.
