The Ballito UIP turns six

Community and Sustainability

Today, 16 November, marks the sixth birthday of the Ballito Urban Improvement Precinct (UIP), a public/private collaboration between commercial property owners and KwaDukuza Municipality to tackle urban decay to drive positive sentiment, secure property values, and attract investment. The structure has grown from strength to strength ensuring the precinct remains one of South Africa’s most desirable locations for people to live, work and play and a place where businesses can thrive.

About this birthday milestone, Ballito UIP chairman Barbara Shingler says: “It’s been a privilege to chair this worthy cause for the past six years and to watch how, under the UIP management team’s competent guidance it has become an entity that’s having a very positive impact on our town. The entrance to Ballito gives a clear indication that “you have arrived” at a booming and well managed town and this extends to the clean and attractive landscaping obvious in the public and shopping areas and the drive down to the beach. Once at the beach, the promenade is a pleasure to walk along with the buzz from organised traders and general feeling of safety.”

With the support of commercial property owners, voluntary residential contributors, and the KwaDukuza Municipality, we can proudly claim Ballito as our own.

We thank you all and look forward to another exceptional year!
