As we approach the festive season, the Ballito UIP team has been working diligently to get the precinct ready for the upcoming December holidays. With an influx of visitors and locals expected to enjoy all that Ballito has to offer, our efforts have focused on enhancing safety, cleanliness, and aesthetics throughout the area.
Maintenance and Infrastructure Improvements
To ensure the precinct is ready for the holiday season, our team has been tackling key repairs and upgrades:

- Promenade Plank Repairs: Damaged planks on the Ballito Promenade have been replaced, ensuring safe and enjoyable access for walkers and beachgoers.
- Ablution Upgrades: Ablution facilities at Salmon Bay and Hawkins Parking have been spruced up with fresh paint and minor repairs to improve the experience for all visitors.
- Pothole Repairs:
- Two major potholes were repairedโone at the Engen/Ashton Traffic Lights on the M4 and another at the BP Traffic Circle on Ballito Drive.
- Minor potholes on Douglas Crowe Drive were also fixed by our team to keep roads safe and smooth.
- Bollard Repairs: Damaged bollards around the precinct were repaired to ensure proper traffic management and pedestrian safety.
- Clutter Removal: Strings, wires, and cable ties were removed from light poles and traffic lights, decluttering the precinct and enhancing its appearance.
- Catchpit Replacement: A damaged catchpit cover on Nandi Mthembu Drive in the Ballito Business Park was replaced, improving safety and functionality in the area.
