March delivered a mix of heavy rain and busy precinct activity, but the Ballito UIP continued to perform at a high level. Despite early weather-related challenges, the precinct remains clean, well-maintained, and in great overall condition.
Response After Rain
Heavy rains at the start of the month prompted teams to assess the area for damage quickly. While some debris was identified on roadways, no major issues were recorded, and clean-up efforts were actioned immediately, ensuring minimal disruption and a swift return to normal conditions.
3,750 Refuse Bags Removed – Visible Results
Ongoing work across the precinct has ensured that Ballito continues to look neat and welcoming. Key maintenance highlights this month included:
- Extensive weeding
- Grass cutting in the upper precinct
- Palm frond clearing and removal
Infrastructure repairs also remained a priority, with curb repairs and repainting along Ballito Drive and near the BP garage, bollard repairs in the Business Park, and the completion of 15 minor pothole repairs – improving both safety and accessibility. In addition to these projects, the team has removed close to 3,750 refuse bags and 3,980 dog waste bags, keeping the precinct clean and welcoming for residents and visitors alike.
Upgrades Making a Difference
March also saw the successful completion of the asphalt repair project on Douglas Crowe, significantly enhancing the condition of the roadway. In addition, new street signage was installed in Phase 3 of the Ballito Business Park, supplied by the Lot Owners Association and installed by Ballito UIP. This upgrade has improved both navigation and the overall look of the area.
