New Year always seems to demand a new approach to health and fitness, and as we hit the 2nd month of 2019 it becomes harder to know how to get this right. Hopefully these simple ‘-friendly-on-the-pocket’ tips will set you on your path

Tip 1 – Tip 1 – The Ballito Boardwalk – If you’re in the area, why not make the Ballito boardwalk part of your weekly routine. With the backdrop of the Indian Ocean, a walk, jog or run on this clean, 2km boardwalk is the perfect way to start or end any day. And with Ballito UIP catering for dogs along this public space, let your furry friend stretch its legs too!  So many pro’s – no more excuses!  

Tip 2 – Pay Attention To Your Food – The best way to overall health is through a varied and nutrient rich diet. Exercise and diet definitely go hand in hand. The way you eat not only influences your weight, but your diet affects your health, too. Incorporate leafy vegetables, fruits and lean meats into your diet. Tip 3 – Take A Swim – Swimming is great exercise and you also have access to some of the most beautiful beaches in Ballito, as well as safe and calm tidal pools. It’s great resistance training and you can take the whole family along. If you want to check out the weather at the beach you can also take a look at the webcams available on the Ballito APP.  Remember to only swim in areas with lifeguards on duty.

Tip 4 – Shut Down Time – We know it’s easier said than done, but, living a heathy life is more than just what we eat and the exercise we do, it’s about down-time too.  And that’s why shut down time has made our top four list. An hour before bed turn off all devices (maybe make it a family activity too) shut the TV off, gather your thoughts, make conversation with family members and enjoy quiet time. It will do you a world of good.
