Over the past two weeks, the Ballito UIP Cleaning and Greening Team has continued its essential work across the precinct, despite the challenges brought on by recent rains. While the wet conditions have made tasks like weeding more difficult, the team has shown dedication in keeping Ballito looking clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Road and paving repairs
A number of potholes were repaired to improve road safety and driving comfort throughout the precinct. Additionally, paving repairs were carried out in the Ballito Business Park, addressing damaged walkways and helping maintain accessibility in high-use areas.
Weeding and vegetation control
Weeding efforts have been underway in both the P445 centre median and the Upper Precinct, where increased plant growth has occurred due to the rains. Despite the challenges, progress has been made in restoring a neat and tidy appearance to public garden spaces. To maintain Ballito’s overall cleanliness and aesthetic appeal, the team has been active in grass cutting throughout the Business Park and sweeping across the precinct, ensuring walkways and public areas remain tidy.
Signage improvements on the promenade
As part of our regular infrastructure upkeep, several promenade signs have been replaced. These new signs replace older signage that had become weathered and in need of refreshment—contributing to both the functionality and visual appeal of the promenade.
We thank our Cleaning and Greening Team for their continued hard work, particularly under difficult weather conditions.
