January saw the Ballito UIP operating at full pace, with the precinct experiencing very high activity levels in the first two weeks of the month. Despite the increased traffic and seasonal pressures, operations ran smoothly, and we are pleased to report that there were no major incidents across the precinct.
Cleaning & Greening: Outstanding Progress
Our Cleaning, Greening & Maintenance (CGM) team continues to deliver exceptional results. Nearly 3,500 refuse bags were used during December and into the first two weeks of January, alongside 3,800 dog waste bags – a clear reflection of both foot traffic and the Ballito UIP teamβs commitment to daily upkeep.
Beyond daily litter removal, the team was proactive in addressing ongoing maintenance issues, ensuring the precinct remained clean, green, and welcoming for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
Maintenance Improvements
General maintenance across the area progressed. During January, key repairs were completed, including pothole repairs to improve road safety and accessibility and post-and-rail fencing repairs and replacements, enhancing both safety and aesthetics.
