Meet the Ballito UIP’s cleaning & greening supervisor, Musa Ngwane

Cleaning and greening supervisor, Musa Ngwane, has worked for the Ballito Urban Improvement Precinct (UIP) for the past six years.

In his role he supervises the UIP’s cleaning and greening team ensuring Ballito always looks clean, neat, green, and cared for. He also takes on maintenance tasks such as fixing curbing, painting walls and the bus stop, and repairing potholes.

The Ballito UIP was established by local commercial property owners in 2015 to combat urban decay, protect property values and deliver enjoyable public spaces for everyone. This is done by bringing supplementary cleaning, greening, maintenance, and security services to the area which extends from the N2 through the Ballito Business Park down Ballito Drive incorporating the M4 as far as the Zimbali circle, Compensation Beach Road and the Ballito promenade.

About working for the UIP Musa says: “I work hard, and I am only happy when everything is clean and neat in my area. I enjoy working with all the UIP’s partners because it feels like we are one family.”

Musa’s favourite part of Ballito is the promenade because this is where he gets the opportunity to learn new things especially during high profile events such as the Ballito PRO.

Musa will be working on the promenade during the event ensuring his team are deployed correctly to ensure a clean and well-maintained environment for this internationally renowned event to take place.
