KwaDukuza Municipality’s continued support in enhancing the Ballito Precinct

We are pleased to provide an update on the recent efforts of KwaDukuza Municipality (KDM) within the Ballito precinct. The ongoing support and collaboration with KDM have been instrumental in maintaining and improving our community’s infrastructure and public spaces. We extend our sincere thanks to KDM for their dedication and hard work.

Streetlight Repairs

A key area of focus this month has been the repair and maintenance of streetlights, which are essential for ensuring the safety and security of our roads and public spaces. KDM has successfully repaired a streetlight at the McDonald’s intersection, restoring much-needed visibility and safety at this busy crossing. Additionally, ongoing repairs are being carried out on a streetlight pole on Douglas Crowe Drive, further enhancing road safety in the precinct.

Catch Pit Drain Repair

KDM’s commitment to addressing infrastructure needs is also evident in their work on Compensation Beach Road, where they are currently repairing a catch pit drain. This repair is crucial for ensuring effective drainage and preventing potential flooding, particularly during heavy rainfall. The proactive efforts of KDM in maintaining our drainage systems help to protect our roads and public areas from water damage.

Refurbishment of Informal Traders’ Facility

In addition to these important repairs, KDM is also refurbishing the informal traders’ facility at Hawkins Car Park. This refurbishment is vital for providing a safe, clean, and functional space for our local traders, contributing to the vibrancy and economic activity of the precinct. The improvements to the facility will benefit both traders and visitors, creating a more organised and welcoming environment.

We would like to express our gratitude to KwaDukuza Municipality for their continued support and responsiveness to the needs of the Ballito community. Their efforts in repairing and maintaining key infrastructure within the precinct are greatly appreciated and play a significant role in ensuring that Ballito remains a safe and thriving place to live, work, and visit.

As we move forward, we look forward to continued collaboration with KDM to address any further needs and enhancements within the precinct. We will keep our community updated on any new developments and projects as they arise
