The Ballito UIP team has been actively working to keep our precinct looking pristine and well-maintained. From routine maintenance to impactful special projects, our efforts are focused on making Ballito a welcoming and vibrant area for residents and visitors alike.
General Maintenance: Litter Collection, Grass Cutting, and Weeding
Our routine maintenance across the precinct has included litter collection, grass cutting, sweeping, and weeding. With recent rains bringing fresh greenery to the area, Ballito is looking lush and vibrant, especially at the main entrance into the precinct, which has been particularly well-tended.
P445 Garden Planting
Our team recently completed a new garden planting along the P445. This additional greenery fills previously open spaces with colorful plants, enhancing the natural beauty and welcoming feel of the area.

Pothole Repairs Across the Precinct
Pothole repairs have been another area of focus. Numerous potholes on Douglas Crowe Road and other spots around the precinct were repaired, ensuring safer and smoother travel. While major potholes were handled by a contractor, our team took care of minor repairs throughout Ballito.
Special Projects: Completion of the Bermuda Stairway
A key special project this month was the revamp of the Bermuda stairway on the Promenade. This upgrade has improved access and safety, providing a more secure route between the Promenade and the beach. Additional Improvements and Replacements
- Promenade Plank Replacements: Eight planks on the Promenade were replaced, contributing to safer walking areas.
- Paver Replacements in Business Park: Fifteen pavers in the Business Park were replaced, maintaining a smooth and safe walkway.
- Bollard Repairs: Our team repaired six damaged bollards around the precinct, ensuring proper demarcation and safety.
Dog Waste Bag Usage
We’ve distributed approximately 3,400 dog waste bags this month alone, supporting responsible pet ownership and helping to keep our public spaces clean and pleasant for all.
Additional Efforts: Sign Cleaning and Hedge Pruning
Alongside these major tasks, we have been actively cleaning and straightening signs and pruning hedges along the Promenade and in the lower Ballito CBD. These smaller but important actions contribute to a tidier, more navigable precinct and support our overall goal of enhancing Ballito’s appeal.
