We faced a massive clean-up task last week, as large amounts of debris washed up onto our beaches after the heavy rains. Our priority was to ensure that the shoreline at Willard’s beach was cleaned up as early as possible for a smooth start to the Ballito Pro and then moving down toward other areas in need such as Salmon Bay. Teams began working to tackle this on the afternoon of Wednesday, the 5th of July with most areas completely cleaned up by Saturday the 8th of July.
A big shout out to all the helping hands from the Ballito Beach Collective, the Dolphin Coast Waste Management (DCWM), our very own cleaning and greening team, and the many individuals who simply just got stuck in to help, for their hard work and amazing effort! We thank you!
