Clean & Maintained
The BUIP Cleaning and Maintenance team has been doing a great job of not losing sight of the basics even with big projects on the go. Some back to basics projects they have been busy with include leveling bins and removing grass from the bases, removing graffiti, cleaning and leveling signage, painting the shelter on the promenade, painting the UIP boundary wall at Foch Le Roux, removing and pruning foliage in front of signs, removing strings found on poles and repairing the promenade stairway at Willard’s Beach.
The greening team has been focussing on edging along the M4 / P44, weeding and pruning the garden on Douglas Crowe Drive, pruning and edging of plants outside Dunlop. The team has been planting Portulacaria along the P445 as the plant palette is being changed. The promenade is looking good at the moment and the grass is well trimmed and edged. A beautiful garden has been installed by the BUIP staff on the N2 area as one turns to the Umhlali CC. We are awaiting a few plants and pavers to complete the garden and most plants used are from within the precinct and nursery.
It was great to see KDM painting traffic lines within the precinct last week. The recent rain slowed them down and they will continue on the western side of the Ballito Junction and behind the centre, thereafter onto Douglas Crowe.
Our security staff continues to deliver great service in the precinct and pothole repairs around the precinct continue.
