Blythedale Beach, Thompson’s Bay and Clarke Bay to be closed until further notice due to cyclone Cheneso

The KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board Maritime Centre of Excellence (KZNSB) has been tracking the movement of cyclone Cheneso.

Whilst the cyclone is moving in a south easterly direction we are expecting the swell size to increase.

The municipality in consultation with KZNSB has therefore taken a precautionary measure to ban bathing at some of its beaches from tomorrow, 28 January 2023, morning until further notice, these are:

– Blythedale Beach

– Thompson’s Bay Beach

– Clarke Bay Beach

We apologise for any inconvenience this will/may cause.
