Recommendation levels have also strengthened, with <strong>99% of respondents indicating they would recommend Ballito to others<\/strong>, compared with <strong>95% in 2025<\/strong> and <strong>97% in 2024<\/strong>. These results point to a precinct that is not only maintaining its appeal but strengthening how it is experienced across a broad user base.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Growing confidence in the precinct<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Business confidence continues to show steady improvement, increasing to an average of <strong>7.88 out of 10 in 2026<\/strong>, up from <strong>7.68 in 2025<\/strong> and <strong>7.46 in 2024<\/strong>. This reflects a stable and resilient environment for commercial activity within the precinct.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Safety remains a defining strength<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Perceptions of safety have strengthened significantly, particularly during the day.<\/p>\n<p>In 2026:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>100% of respondents feel safe or reasonably safe during the day<\/li>\n<li>94% feel safe or reasonably safe at night<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Daytime safety has improved from <strong>77% in 2025<\/strong> and <strong>71% in 2024<\/strong>, while night-time safety has improved from <strong>78% in 2025<\/strong> and now exceeds <strong>2024 levels of 83%<\/strong>. These gains reinforce Ballito\u2019s reputation as a safe and accessible precinct across both day and evening activity.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Clean, well-managed public spaces<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Cleanliness continues to underpin the appeal of Ballito, with a clear shift toward higher performance ratings.<\/p>\n<p>In 2026:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>63% of respondents indicated that cleanliness of open spaces exceeds expectations, with a further 31% rating it as great<\/li>\n<li>The appearance of beaches and promenade also exceeds expectations, with 53% exceeding and 37% rating it as great<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This reflects a notable improvement from 2025, where ratings were more weighted toward \u201cgreat\u201d, with a higher proportion of respondents indicating areas needing attention.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>A lifestyle destination that continues to attract<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Ballito\u2019s appeal as a lifestyle destination remains a key driver of its performance.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>95% of visitors indicated leisure as their primary reason for visiting in 2026<\/li>\n<li>84% of visitors indicated they would consider moving to Ballito in the next 10 years, up from 75% in 2025 and 54% in 2024<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This sustained and growing desirability continues to support both tourism and long-term investment in the precinct.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Areas of focus<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>While the results reflect strong performance, the survey continues to highlight areas requiring attention.<\/p>\n<p>In 2026, respondents identified:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cleanliness of beaches<\/li>\n<li>Beach infrastructure upgrades<\/li>\n<li>Increased security at night<\/li>\n<li>Parking availability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These insights remain important in guiding operational priorities and ongoing engagement with municipal stakeholders.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>A measured approach to improvement<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u201cThese results reflect what we are seeing on the ground \u2014 a precinct that continues to perform, but also one where expectations are increasing.
